Dean Fezza, CEO

Mr. Fezza is the Chief Executive Officer and co-founder of MID-SHIP Capital.  Previously, Mr. Fezza was a Senior Vice President responsible for Shipping & Offshore deal origination and client coverage at HSH Nordbank from 2013-2015.  From 2007-2012, Mr. Fezza was a Vice President in J.P. Morgan’s Corporate & Investment Bank covering industrials, metals & mining and financial institution clients.   From 2001-2006, Mr. Fezza was a management consultant in Booz Allen Hamilton’s Logistics & Supply Chain Management practice.  Mr. Fezza holds an MBA from NYU’s Stern School of Business, a MSc in Transportation Policy, Operations & Logistics from George Mason University and a BSc in Marine Transportation from the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy at Kings Point. Mr. Fezza is the CEO of MID-SHIP Securities and holds Series 79, 63 and 24 licenses.

Carl Rasmussen, Managing Director

Mr. Rasmussen is a co-founder and Managing Director at MID-SHIP Capital. Previously, Mr. Rasmussen was a Senior Vice President and Head of HSH Nordbank’s Americas Shipping & Offshore team where he oversaw client relationships, deal origination and maritime exposure in the Americas from 2012 to 2015. Earlier maritime finance experience includes Cambridge Global Capital Partners and Bridge Maritime from 2009-2012, the Special Situations Group of Deutsche Bank from 2007-2008, and the Shipping and Offshore team at Fortis Bank/MeesPierson from 1997 – 2007.  Mr. Rasmussen sailed as a marine engineering officer aboard U.S. Flag merchant ships from 1990-1995. Mr. Rasmussen received an MBA from Tulane University’s A.B. Freeman School of Business in 1997 and a BSc in Marine Engineering from the United States Merchant Marine Academy at Kings Point in 1990.

Paul Lopez, Managing Director

Paul Lopez is the Managing Partner and Founder of 643 Maritime Advisers, LLC (“643”). 643 was founded with the mission of pairing institutional capital with investment opportunities across the domestic and international shipping, energy and metals and mining sectors. Prior to founding 643, Mr. Lopez was a Managing Director and Head of Shipping at Imperial Capital. Prior to that, Mr. Lopez was the Head of Leverage Finance and Fixed Income Capital Markets at Dahlman Rose & Company. Mr. Lopez was also a Senior Vice President at Solomon Smith Barney focused on distressed and special situation middle market sales and trading and began his career as a high yield research analyst at CIBC World Markets. Mr. Lopez graduated from University of San Francisco with a Bachelor of Arts degree and holds series 7 and 63 licenses.

Alan White, Chief Compliance Officer

Prior to joining MID-SHIP Securities Mr. White was a Senior Vice President with HSH Nordbank responsible for Loan Syndication and asset sales. He also served on the Management Committee of their Broker Dealer and holds series 7, 63 and 24 licenses. Mr. White worked at GE Capital from 2002 to 2008, where he was a Managing Director and Head of Capital Markets and Syndications and he held a similar role with Fleet Securities from 1998 to 2002. Mr. White has more than 40 years of experience in debt Capital market and leveraged Finance both in the US and the UK and in this sector he also held senior positions with Societe Generale, CIBC and Bankers Trust Company.
